Hartford Independent Media Center (HIMC) is totally volunteer staffed. We produce this blog, our website, the weekly radio show, RadioActive, and are looking to revive our print project, the Hartford Undercurrent. The print is the most expensive and we will only be able to bring it back if we can raise the money. Compared to other organizations, our budget is not huge, but because we refuse any advertising, we must raise all the money ourselves. Your financial contribution goes a long way. We only budget for what we need. But fundraising is a very difficult and time consuming process. If you value what HIMC has done for the past 4 years, you can help us continue. Please consider a generous donation to HIMC.
Hartford Undercurrent print journal: estimates vary, average would be approximately $800 per press run. We’d like to begin publishing quarterly:
$3200 per year
Mailing: If able to publish the new Undercurrent print journal, approximate mailing costs:
$400 per year
Rent: We rent a small office space from our friends at CCAG, CT Citizen Action Group, for $100 per month, $1200 per year.
Miscellaneous expenses, including supplies for Halloween party, 4th of July BBQ, anniversary party, etc., office supplies and other. Low estimate:
$90 per year, though HIMC volunteers often cover these costs.
CDs for RadioActive, bundle of 50:
$15 per year
